Psalms 70

Which worship songs are based on Psalms 70?

  1. Psalm 70 (O God, Make Haste) — Brian Sauvé (2021) Psalms 70:1-5

The entire song closely renders Psalm 70, preserving its urgent appeal for deliverance, requests that malicious pursuers be disgraced, call for God's seekers to rejoice, and final confession of poverty and dependence.

  2. Aliança - ao vivo — Isadora Pompeo (2024) Psalms 70:1

The opening appeal closely reproduces the Davidic plea for the Lord to hurry to the worshipper’s aid. The wording shared by these two related psalms is specific enough to indicate a direct scriptural allusion.

Psalms 70 (King James Version)

1 MAKE HASTE, O GOD, TO DELIVER ME; MAKE HASTE TO HELP ME, O LORD.

2 Let them be ashamed and confounded that seek after my soul: let them be turned backward, and put to confusion, that desire my hurt.

3 Let them be turned back for a reward of their shame that say, Aha, aha.

4 Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: and let such as love thy salvation say continually, Let God be magnified.

5 But I am poor and needy: make haste unto me, O God: thou art my help and my deliverer; O LORD, make no tarrying.
